Audio project examples

Example 1

Notice how we start with some the basic sound loop which is used throughout the piece. As it progresses more sounds build. Slowly disturbing sounds are brought into transition to a more disruptive sound. The contrast between the basic loop and the disruptive sounds adds to the disruptive section of the music.

Example 2

Here the student is playing her own musical composition, the relaxing sound is added to by the use of rain in the background. Slowly we have sounds that cause a sense of anxiety in the listener including sounds of traffic and yelling and static. When preparing this piece the student thought of sounds that made her relaxed or stressed and then used them in her piece.

Example 3

Here is an example of a piece that is successful but uses outside music to achieve its success. Because of this, the student lost points and ended up with a lower grade. Remember, you can use small, 2 to 3-second snippets of music not composed by you but long sections such as in this piece.

Example 4

This example is more narrative than the others with a person traveling through a creepy building and discovering kittens. While the creepy section works well the second section with the kittens is a little two fast and doesn’t allow us as the listener to come down from the creepy part that was so well established in the first part.
