In this project and our video project we will be using Premiere Pro CC 2014. While the interface can be somewhat daunting at first we will slowly begin to learn the basics over the next couple of days. This post also contains info on how to export your video and a link to a cheat sheet of keyboard commands.

Hello, everyone. As I said in class today, in honor of all the new things that this term brings I will be trying a number of new things in this class. One of those new things is this site. Here you should be able to download the lessons and exercises you need as well as view the class notes etc.
Today we talked about how our brain like to find patterns and structure. Part of this structure is the narrative we each tell ourselves, the narrative of our life. ‘You Are Not So Smart’ is an excellent blog and podcast which deals with how our brain works and how we can sometimes be fooled by it. In this excerpt David McRaney reads a section from his book which deals with narrative bias.
In the next few classes, we will be talking about change and juxtaposition and how they affect the structure of a piece of time based art. Lev Kuleshov was a member of the early soviet filmmakers who believed the editing or piecing together of film to be the most important factor in how an audience reads a film.
